The ten rules of the "Streetballnight" in Kaiserslautern

The most important rule is "Fair play" and we are pretty sure everyone will agree to it!
Because of that there won't be any referees at the tournament but only court guards. Task of the court guards is it not only to record scores and fouls but to mediate disagreements.
The highest authority is the supervisor who makes the final decision if necessary.

Rule 1
The match is played 3 against 3
A team consists of 4 players - substitute included. The substitute can be put on and off the court as often as necessary/desired.
The team captain is the contact person for the event management and the court guards.

Rule 2
Matches have to be started with 3 players but can be finished with two. It's not allowed to replace players of a certain team during the tournament.

Rule 3
Which team is in possession of the ball when the match starts is determined by tossing a coin. After every score the ball changes possession - no "make it, take it". Each time the ball changed possession (including defense rebound), after fouls and after the ball went over the sideline the match is restarted from behind the 2-point line. The team that now is in the defensive position has to check the ball to the attacking team.

Rule 4
In a jump ball situation the defending team gets the ball. If the ball touchs the basket pole it shall be deemed "outside the field".

Rule 5
Slam dunks neither are allowed while warming up nor during the match.

Rule 6
Running out the clock is agianst the principle of Fairplay. Delay of game is punished with turnover.

Rule 7
A field goal as well as a free throw count one point each. Successful shots from behind the distance line count 2 points.

Rule 8
A match ends after one team scored 12 points or the playtime of 10 minutes is over. In the latter case the current score is recorded. In case of a draw the match is decided by free throw shooting (each player gets one shot; the winner is the team that gets ahead by 2 points).

Rule 9
All fouls are reported by the players themselves. The match is continued by the team the foul was recognized for - even if the player was fouled while shooting. If a player was fouled while shooting and the shot turns out to be successful the goal counts and the possession of the ball changes. After the 6th team foul each additional foul is punished with a free throw for the fouled player. After each free throw the possession of the ball changes regardless of whether the shot was successful or not.

Rule 10
Unsportsmanlike fouls are punished with a free shot for the fouled player and ball possession for his/her team. Two unsportsmanlike fouls committed by a certain player result in exclusion of this player from the current game. Palpabilities leading to exclusion from the tournament for both teams involved.
